Harmar U10G2 earned a hard fought victory at Freeport this week, squeaking out a 3-1 victory against Freeport 1.   Playing with no substitutes for much of the game the Harmar girls gave up thr first goal of the game before Kaitlyn Koontz (2nd) tied the game late in the first half.  Chelsey Adams made two big saves late in the first half to keep the game tied.   In the second half Harmar got goals from Jamie McCartney (2nd) and Danielle Shaffold (3rd) to put the game away.   Krysten Gedraitis played goal for the first time, and made several key saves to keep Freeport off the scoreboard in the second half..  All the girls played a strong game under some tough conditions, lead by Breanne Loveland who played a strong game at both ends of the field.

The U10G2 remained unbeaten and won for the third week in a row, earning a hard fought victory over the Highlands 3 team by the score of 2-1. The girls came out strong in the first half and controlled the play for most of the half. Despite their strong play Harmar lead only 1-0 at the end of the first half after Breanne Loveland scored her second goal of the season. The play was even for much of the second half until Shauna Zupan scored her first goal of the season to put Harmar up 2-0. Shauna's goal was the much needed insurance for Harmar and proved to be the game winner after Highlands scored a goal late in the game to finish out the scoring. For the second week in a row Breanne Loveland played a strong game at both ends of the field. Kimberly Watterson, Chelsey Adams, and Krysten Gedraitis played well in goal, turning away much of the pressure applied by Highlands.
April 26th
The Harmar U10G2 team suffered their first loss of the season this weekend, falling to a strong Freeport 4 team by the score of 3-2. Harmar jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on Danielle Shaffolds 4th and 5th goals of the season before Freeport was able to get on the scoreboard in the first half. Harmar led 2-1 at the half. In the second half Freeport jumped on Harmar early and scored in the first two minutes of the half to tie the game at 2 goals apiece. Then, with about ten minutes left in the game Freeport scored their third unanswered goal to take a 3-2 lead. Harmar had opportunities to tie the game late but could not find the net, sending their shots wide of their mark.
May 3rd
The Harmar U10G2 team got back to their winning ways this week, dominating TriCity 3, to bring their team record to 4 wins and one loss.   The final score was Harmar 6 and TriCity 1.  Even though the margin of victory was five goals the match was not even that close, with much of the play taking place in the TriCity defensive end.   The scoring started less than a minute into the game when Danielle Shaffold scored her sixth goal of the season.   From then on Harmar never looked back.  Goals by Shauna Zupan (2nd) and Chelsey Adams (1st) gave Harmar a 3-0 lead at halftime.   The second half was much like the first, with Harmar dominating the play.   Goals by Kimberly Watterson (2nd) and Jamie McCartney (3rd) made the score 5-0 before TriCity scored on a nice breakaway goal, bringing the score to 5-1. Breanne Loveland closed out the scoring late in the second half with her third goal of the season.   Final Harmar 6, TriCity 1.
